The Unisphere

Monday April 5, 2004
Smack dab in the middle of Queens, in Flushing Meadows Park, is the Unisphere, a huge globe built for the 1964 World's Fair. It's a symbol of the borough and can't be missed when you're in the park for a soccer game or a visit to the Queens Museum of Art -- or just driving by on the LIE. The Unisphere is also a great example of early '60s design and public art. So check it out as the weather warms up.
