Africa Alive in Long Island City

This Saturday (December 6) treat yourself to a night of West African Praise Songs, Congolese Rumba, and Tanzanian Hip Hop at the Museum for African Art (36-01 43rd Avenue, 3rd Floor, Long Island City).
The program--"Africa Alive!"--is hosted by the Queens Council on the Arts, and will feature Super Manden and the Abdoulaye Diabate Ensemble, Balozi Dola, and Coco Sukali.
The current Museum exhibit "Looking Both Ways," highlighting art of the contemporary African Diaspora, will be open during the performances. South African snacks will be served just prior to the performance. Showtime: 7 p.m.; suggested admission: $5
