Best School District in NYC

School District 26 in Queens is rated one of the best school districts in New York City. The district encompasses Douglaston, Bayside, Little Neck, Floral Park, Glen Oaks, Bellerose, Jamaica Estates, and Fresh Meadows. It includes 20 elementary schools and five middle schools, and serves over 17,000 a year. The district has a Gifted Magnet Program for intellectually gifted students, along with other interesting opportunities.

A new school has opened in District 26: PS/IS 266 in Glen Oaks is the first new school in the district in 42 years.
