Today the New York Water Taxi began service between Manhattan and Long Island City. The ferry stops at Hunters Point in LIC and in Manhattan at East 34th Street and Pier 11/Wall Street. The fare is $4-5 one way and it runs every half hour during rush hours. Check their site for details. Until last week another ferry company had provided service but abruptly cut it off due to lack of profit.
